Picture

Three young Tutsi women bear witness to the massacre of their families during the months of April, May and August '94 in Rwanda. They tell about the years before and think about the ethnic divisions and the resentment and fear that kindled them. Now they have to live in an inexorable present. In their new surroundings in Brussels, where they took refuge, they look at what family snapshots they could save and describe the circumstances of the killing of their kin. Then two women -a Hutu and a Tutsi- think about ways to find the necessary strength to think and speak after the humiliating experience of being hated and killed in their own country, even sometimes at the hands of close "friends" and neighbours. They raise their children together, looking for new values that could make coexistence a reality.
